Third Generation Part 2
~ Issue of Mary, Elizabeth, and Emma ~
(the Nobles are a huge family, so they will go on part 3)
+ 30  Minnie Myrtle CRANDALL was born 23 Apr 1887 in Oaks Corners, Ontario County, New York and died 12 Feb 1917 in Geneva New York. Her cause of death was Puerperal Septicemia following an abortion. Minnie appears to be very unlucky as far as motherhood goes. Only one child is known to have survived to adulthood. She married William M LAWS 28 Dec 1904. William was the son of Eliza MILLER (1855-1932) and William LAWS (1847-1900). William was born 30 Dec 1877 in Geneva, New York and died 9 Sep 1927 in Geneva of Chronic Intestinal Nephritis. He worked as a labourer, tin cannery worker, and a gardener at various times in his life. It seems that there may have possibly been some kind of animosity between William and his in-laws at some point, as Ralph, the only known surviving child went to live with Mary Ann and her sons, and William was not buried with the family, but with his own. At one point of their marriage, Minnie is living with her mom and William is living fairly close by with his family. William married Minnie Louise HILKERT on 21 Apr 1921 in Romulus, Seneca County, New York. Minnie was the daughter of Emma SELL (1876-1934) andGeorge Washington HILKERT (1874-1959).  She was born Aug 1898 in Varick, Seneca County, New York. William and Minnie were known to have one child known as Willis LAWS. Willis was born 1925 in Seneca, NY and died 1934. More is needed on this information. So far, Minnie HILKERT has vanished. I have been unable to locate her. I do have a bit of information on her family, though.
Their children were:
+ 98 F i
Mary Louisa LAWS was born 7 Jun 1907. She is not mentioned after the 1910 census. William doesn't appear on the 1920 index and as Ralph is living with his grandmother by that time, I doubt William would have kept Mary. I'll keep diggin to find out where she is. As far as I know, she never married.

+ 99 M ii
Infant Boy LAWS was born 22 June 1908. He may have died right away, I still need to find this record. The 1910 census says that Minnie had 2 non surviving children, so we know he died before the 1910 census was taken. He never married.

+ 100F iii
Rebecca LAWS was born 7 Aug 1909 in Geneva, New York, and died 28 Aug 1909 in Geneva of Acute Diarrhea. Perhaps it is a coincidence, but it seems that Minnie was not the most careful of mothers when it came to her babies' health. She never married.

+ 101 M iv
Ralph E LAWS was born 7 Aug 1911 in Geneva New York and died 7 June 1996 in Tonasket, Okonagan, Washington. We haven't got enough information on him at this point to say whether he married or not. In 1930 he is living with his uncle Charles as well as his grandmother. He stayed with the family up until the early 30's and then we don't know what happened to him. He seems to have taken himself off to school or work. He is pictured with some others at a visit to Sam and Mary Ann Sparks in Port Elgin in 1923.

+ 102 M v
Samuel H LAWS was born 3 May 1914 in Geneva, New York and died 14 Nov 1914 of
"Broncho-Pneumonia".
He never married.

+ 103 M vi
Kenneth W LAWS was born 22 Mar 1916 in Geneva, New York and died 9 Aug 1916 in Geneva of Cholera Infantum which he acquired from a dirty bottle. He never married.

+ 31 Wallace W CRANDALL was born C 1892 in Oaks Corners, New York. We have an unverified SSDI listing showing a Wallace Crandall born 13 Oct 1891 and dying Jan 1978 in Corinth, Saratoga, NY.
He married Louise NORTHUP/NORTHRUP on 19 Feb 1914. Louise was born about 1897 in Earl's Station, New York. Louise was the daughter of Anna STRIKER and Clark NORTHUP/NORTHRUP. After Clark died, Anna married a man by the name of COOK, and was apparently married to him when Louise married. Louise may have gone by that name at some point as in the death registration of Harold Henry she is listed as Louise COOK born Himrods, New York. Wallace is so far not trackable in the 1920 census, but I have him in several city directories of Geneva. Eventually he and his brother Charles opened Crandall Bros. Garage at 49 1/2 Gates Ave in Geneva. Unfortunately the building is no longer there.

Their children were:
+ 104 F i
Marian CRANDALL was born about 1914 in Geneva, New York.
Marriage information unknown at this time.

+ 105 F ii
Florence CRANDALL was born about 1916 in Geneva, New York. She married Herbert COURTWRIGHT in 1933 in Ontario County, New York.

+ 106 M iii
Harold Henry CRANDALL was born 19 Sep 1919 in Geneva, New York and died 12 Sept 1920 in Geneva New York. Cause of death was Gastro Enteritis. He never married.

+ 107 M iii
Wallace CRANDALL was born in 1930 in Geneva, New York. So far this is all that is known about him. Marriage information is unknown at this time.

Charles H CRANDALL was born 24 Mar 1893 in Oaks Corners, Ontario County, New York, and died 15 Apr 1966 in Geneva, New York. He married Hattie May HARTMAN 28 Nov 1912 in Geneva, New York. Hattie was born 24 Sep 1894 in Illinois to Emma COBB and William HARTMAN. She died 27 Feb 1979 in Geneva, New York. She seems to have had a sister named Myrtle K, as Myrtle K HARTMAN and Wallace W CRANDALL were witnesses at the wedding. Hattie was an optical worker at the time of her marriage, and Charles was a cutlery worker. Hattie was very young when she married Charles, but it took them until 1928 to have what appears to be their first child. More research is needed on my next trip to Geneva. Charles went into the Garage Business with his brother, Wallace. More info to come on that score.

Their children were:
+ 108 F i Barbara CRANDALL born about 1928 in Geneva, New York.
No marriage information is known on her at this time.

AT THIS TIME I HAVE NO OFFSPRING INFORMATION FOR ANY OF THE MINNS CHILDREN. I WILL KEEP TRYING. I DO HAVE SSDI INFORMATION ON A FEW OF THEM.
THIS WON'T GIVE ME OFFSPRING INFORMATION, BUT IT WILL GIVE ME
SOMETHING TO WRITE SOMEWHERE IN HERE! (August/04)

56 Annie ANDERSEN was born Jan 1900 in Geneva, New York. She is listed in the 1920 census as Anna Andersen, a boarder in the Brown (?) household. She is a bookkeeper for an insurance company.

Her children were:

Eleanor ANDERSEN born out of wedlock, according to family lore. I have no proof at this point.
